Learn how to make your own leather in a three day sheepskin hide tanning workshop using traditional hide tanning techniques and no chemicals. Great for beginners, leather workers, and anyone who wants to work with their hands. Walk away with your own hand tanned sheepskin. All tools and materials needed for the class are provided. Saturday night after the workshop teaching we'll cook dinner over a fire in the field at Moon Horse Ranch.

ABOUT SHELE JESSEE

Shele Jessee is a maker, and a doer, a horsewoman, a designer and a hide tanner. She has lived her life with as much intention as she can, and follows her heart as much as possible.

Shele has studied horsemanship, yoga, nature connection work, primitive skills, equus/life coaching, permaculture and probably more.She is a studier of life who likes to know how to do things and why we are the way we are. She tries to live her own life artfully.

TRAVEL AND LODGING

Workshop participants are responsible for their own travel to and lodging in Santa Fe. For those traveling from out of town, the nearest airports are in Santa Fe, 20 minutes away, and Albuquerque, which is an hour drive away. For lodging, we recommend the El Rey Court, who has offered registered workshop participants up to 15% off a four night stay. The exact address of the workshop will be sent to registered participants the week of arrival. Moon Horse Ranch is 30 minutes south of downtown Santa Fe, between the villages of Galisteo and Cerillos. San Marcos Seed and Feed is a 5 minute drive from Moon Horse Ranch.
